In the world of farming, plants are identified and differentiated long before they are planted. During the growth period, they develop into full-grown plants to serve the purpose they were intended. Plants produce fruits because they have the ability to do so. No one waits for the avocado tree to mature before they can conclude that indeed it was an avocado tree. And no one, who planted maize will wait for the harvest time to conclude that it was maize but not sorghum that was planted.
We are not Christians by the good works or acts we do, but we are Christians because Christ died for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). Jesus Christ is the lamb of God that was slain from the foundation of the world. Long before you existed in this world, God through Jesus Christ had provided atonement for your sins by the sacrifice of his son.
An orange tree whether it produces oranges or not does negate the fact that it’s an orange tree. As Christians, we sometimes struggle with trying to fit into the right side of society by doing that which will make us good in others’ sight. While this may not be necessarily bad, if the intention is not unto the glory of the Lord, we risk living the life of the Pharisees during Christ’s period. They were adamant in ensuring that the people followed the law to the latter at the expense of their humanity. Christ refers to them as hypocrites for they prevented not only themselves but others from entering the kingdom of God (Mathew 23:13).
Jesus Christ reminds us that he is the way, the truth, the life, and the author and finisher of our race (John 14:6, Hebrews 12:2). Our boasting should be that Christ died for us and hence providing the way for our salvation. God keeps on reminding us that we are his children because he has bestowed so much love upon us (1 John 3:1). Ours is to reach out and claim this assurance and to be confident that he who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion till the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).
This is amazing!
Thank you. Stay Blessed.
